Geneva Becomes the World Stage for Luxury Watches
Geneva has long been the capital of fine watchmaking. Its cobblestone streets, elegant boutiques, and lakeside views have set the scene for centuries of horological innovation. Every September, this heritage comes alive with Geneva Watch Days, a unique watch fair dedicated to luxury Swiss watches and independent watch brands.
From September 4–7, 2025, the sixth edition of Geneva Watch Days welcomed collectors, journalists, and enthusiasts from around the world, confirming its place as one of the most important global watchmaking events alongside Watches & Wonders.
What Makes Geneva Watch Days Different?
Unlike traditional trade fairs, Geneva Watch Days embraces the entire city as its stage. More than 60 watch brands, from iconic Swiss watch maisons to rising independent watchmakers, presented their core collections and latest timepieces in hotels, boutiques, private lounges, and at the famous Pavilion on the Quai du Mont-Blanc.
This decentralized format transforms Geneva into a living exhibition of haute horlogerie, offering an intimate experience where collectors can try on mechanical watches, attend cultural programs, and engage directly with master watchmakers.
The Spirit of Geneva Watch Days
Launched in 2020, Geneva Watch Days was born to be agile, inclusive, and accessible. While Baselworld’s collapse left a void, GWD reinvented the concept of the watch fair by creating a cultural festival atmosphere.
Visitors can wander lakeside streets, explore private showcases, and discover novelties up close, ranging from affordable microbrand watches to high-complication masterpieces. This blend of exclusivity and openness is what makes the event unique.
Pavilion Highlights: Culture and Innovation
The Pavilion is the heart of Geneva Watch Days. Its design and welcoming spaces host not only key releases but also the Culture Club program, organized with the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and the Geneva Watchmaking School. Guests enjoyed guided tours, watchmaking lectures, and interactive exhibits, perfect for both seasoned collectors and newcomers curious about tourbillons, chronographs, and the art of Swiss finishing.
The Pavilion also hosted the Calibership Competition, where participants, from expert watchmakers to enthusiasts, tested their skills by regulating a Sellita movement under the supervision of the COSC.
Must-See Watch Releases of 2025
Every edition of Geneva Watch Days brings headline launches, and 2025 was no exception. Some of the most talked-about new luxury watches included:
TAG Heuer Astronomer – A bold leap into celestial themes, with a moonphase display that looks like it belongs in a sci-fi observatory.
Oris x Bamford ProPilot Altimeter “Mission Control” – Playful neon accents meet serious tool-watch credentials.
Czapek Antarctique Rattrapante R.U.R. – A split-seconds chronograph that marries mechanical ingenuity with poetic design.
Zenith x USM Chronomaster Revival – A colorful tribute to modular design and creative collaboration.
Laurent Ferrier Classic Tourbillon Teal Série Atelier – A masterpiece that proves restraint and beauty can walk hand in hand.
Ulysse Nardin Freak X Crystalium – Experimental material innovation pushing boundaries once again.
From the accessible Furlan Marri Disco Volante Onyx to six-figure grand complications, the fair once again proved there is a Geneva Watch Days discovery for every kind of collector.
A City-Wide Showcase for Collectors
What sets Geneva Watch Days apart is its open, city-wide format. Each brand hosted presentations in its own space, turning Geneva into a horological treasure hunt.
One moment you’re admiring Bulgari’s high jewelry watches, the next you’re exploring Czapek’s Antarctique models, and later you stumble upon an independent atelier showcasing limited editions of just 10 pieces.
Why Geneva Watch Days Matters
By its sixth edition, Geneva Watch Days has become a permanent fixture in the horological calendar. Alongside Watches & Wonders, it defines the rhythm of the luxury watch industry, bridging the gap between exhibitions, auctions, and collector gatherings worldwide.
More importantly, it offers something no other fair does: community. Watch collectors mingle with CEOs, journalists chat with young watchmakers, and debates on sustainability and innovation are open to all. The result is a welcoming, electric atmosphere that embodies the essence of Swiss watchmaking culture.

Final Thoughts
If Watches & Wonders Geneva is about grandeur and spectacle, Geneva Watch Days is about discovery and connection. The 2025 edition balanced heritage and innovation, exclusivity and accessibility, tradition and experimentation.
For collectors, it was an opportunity to find the next grail watch. For brands, a platform to engage in dialogue. And for Geneva itself, a reminder that it isn’t just the home of watchmaking, it is watchmaking.
As the sun set on the Quai du Mont-Blanc on September 7th, one thing was clear: Geneva Watch Days is here to stay, and its role in the world of Swiss luxury watches will only grow stronger.
