A tribute to history, the Omega Speedmaster “First Omega in Space”, reference 310.30.40.50.06.001, celebrates the iconic chronograph worn by astronaut Wally Schirra during the 1962 Sigma 7 mission of the Mercury programme. This elegant 39.7 mm stainless steel model blends vintage charm with contemporary craftsmanship.

The grey-blue dial features a CVD coating, echoing the tone seen on certain CK 2998 models from the 1960s. The dial is complemented by vintage Super-LumiNova-filled hour and minute “Alpha” hands, while the central seconds “Baton” hand is finished in white varnish to coordinate with the printed markings. The subdials include a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds display at 9 o’clock..

Powered by the manually wound Omega Calibre 3861 which is the most up-to-date version of the Calibre 321 worn by astronauts in space. The Calibre 3861 offers a power reserve of 50 hours and is certified Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15'000 gauss.

A vintage OMEGA logo adorns both the dial and the crown, while the caseback showcases the iconic Seahorse medallion along with the engravings, 'THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE' and 'OCTOBER 3, 1962.'"

Fitted with a stainless steel bracelet, the FOIS offers a balanced mix of vintage design and modern comfort, a must-have for collectors and Speedmaster enthusiasts alike.
